Floor Plan Financing

Floor plan financing is a form of asset-based lending used for financing the inventory of a business. Typically, a lender loans a retailer money on a short term basis to buy inventory for their “floor.” Once the retailer sells the inventory to their customers, they are then able to repay the floor plan lender. This is commonly used to finance vehicles for an automobile dealership or other retailers whose inventory is made up of big ticket items.
